Sekaibito K.K. is a licensed recruitment company based in Kanagawa, Tokyo. Founded in 2011, we were built with the vision to help globally-minded companies and job seekers find each other and push their boundaries so that we can surmount categories like “Japanese” and “foreigner” and become sekaibito—global citizens.
We help companies find skilled professionals with a focus on multilingual and multicultural searches. We are well adapted to meet the needs of companies that are seeking to expand their global business and hire more employees with an international background.

Our Team
A dual American and German citizen living in Japan since 2005, Byron has always been driven to connect people across cultures. Byron gained experience in the recruiting industry at a top global recruiting firm before founding Sekaibito Inc.
Before entering the recruiting industry, Byron was a Coordinate for International Relations for the JET program in Miyazaki. Byron also previously worked at Pasona, a large Japanese recruitment firm, where he started a special program to hire non-Japanese workers.
Byron is fluent in Japanese and holds Masters of Science from United Nations University. In his spare time, Byron has worked on various building and renovation projects including the Yokomura Eco-Lodge and community advocacy.
Byron and Kaori also operate Kasamatsu Farms, an organic farm with free-range chickens, and apply permaculture principles and regenerative agriculture practices.
Kaori is an experienced recruitment and sales and marketing professional with a focus on the media, software, and education sectors. Fully bilingual and bicultural, Kaori grew up in Japan and the United States and worked in both Tokyo and San Francisco before moving to Kanagawa.
Kaori has lectured at the JSHRM (Japan Society for Human Resource Management). Prior to co-founding Sekaibito, Kaori worked at a large, global recruitment company as well as several operating companies in internal recruitment positions. As Sekaibito’s COO, Kaori manages all aspects of the business with Byron but she especially enjoys implementing strategic Marketing initiatives. She is always eager to deploy new marketing ideas in her approach.
In her free time, Kaori enjoys photography, writing, and spending time with her children.
Kaori is the co-owner of Yokomura Eco-Lodge and Kasamatsu Farms.
